		<description>Welcome to 90 percent of all trainings public school educators go to.  I use a lot of &quot;collaborative learning&quot; in my classes, but only after days of lecture and notes to make sure the students get the base material down.  There&#039;s value in them working together -- but if they don&#039;t have the appropriate base knowledge, their interactions with one another will be flawed, and will likely result in further misunderstandings of the taught concepts.  This viewpoint makes me largely unpopular during staff development days.</description>
